The Indian Space Research Organisation on Wednesday successfully launched seven satellites in 1,200 seconds with the help of its most trusted Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle from the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh coast.The launch was carried out as per schedule at 11.51 am and ended at 12.06 pm.Vice President Hamid Ansari, who was present at the Satish Dhavan Space Centre, congratulated the scientists and technocrats over this splendid achievement for the nation.

Chief of the Indian Space Research Organisation K Radhakrishnan, while commenting on the failure of the latest communication satellite GSAT-5P onboard homegrown GSLV-F06 powered by a Russian cryogenic engine, said that the vehicle faced problems 50 seconds after its launch."The command for aborting the launch was issued when the vehicle was at an altitude of 8 km and 2.5 km away from Sriharikota," said the ISRO chief.

Seven months after its launch, India's maiden mission to the moon Chandrayaan has reportedly developed a technical snag. Reports suggest that the star sensor on board Chandrayaan has malfunctioned, thus partially crippling the spacecraft.Due to the malfunctioning of the critical component, it has now become difficult to steer Chandrayaan. Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation, which had successfully launched the moon mission, have patched two sensors.

Devas Multimedia has seized $87,457.47 cash that ISRO's commercial arm Antrix Corporation held in the US as it looked to enforce a $1.2 billion compensation it had won over a cancelled satellite deal, its lawyer said on Wednesday. Devas Multimedia America Inc had sought seizure of $145,000 but the actual recovery was $87,457.47 (a little less than Rs 70 lakh). This came after it secured a favourable order from the Eastern District Court of Virginia, Matthew D McGrill said.

The Indian Space Research Organisation will launch ten satellites, including eight from abroad, which will be carried by PSLV-C9, on April 28.The cluster of satellites to be lifted includes the Indian satellite Cartosat-2A, weighing 690 kg. The vehicle would also carry eight nano satellites of 16 to 27 kg from Canada, Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. Of the eight nano satellites, six are form a cluster called NLS-4. These satellites were built to test nano technoloy.
